Riverdale, yes, I'm just another one of those teenage girls fascinated by the wonderful town surrounded by dingy darkness and filled with manic mystery. Super season 1 follows the investigation of a murder case, the innocent high school student Jason Blossom. However, sensational season 2 details the 4 main characters scrambling to hunt down a ferocious serial killer known as 'The Black Hood' who is terrorizing the town of Riverdale to rid it of sinners. This brilliantly spectacular series follows the lives of Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, Archie Andrews and Jughead Jones. A new episode of this prize-worthy programme airs every Thursday, I would definitely recommend give the show a watch. #netflixandchill

Series 2 is now available and it is tastefully thrilling, freakishly funny and drama filled. Within 1 episode smiles, loving relationships and perfect tranquillity can suddenly transform into relationship drama, 'Black Hood' blackmail or even your beautiful boyfriend joining an illegal, dangerous and threatening gang. You may have guessed by now that Riverdale is an illustrious, invigorating and innovative programme. This interesting expert show has already won 9 awards with an additional 4 nominations over the last 2 years. If this isn't enough to persuade you to watch it, each individual episode has an IMDB review but mostly higher than a 7.1 (Impressive)!

An introduction to the main characters

Every episode of Riverdale offers different perspectives on the diverse divas' and the good-looking guys in the troublesome town. Lili Reinhart gives her best performance every episode in the part of preppy princess 'Betty Cooper'. Betty is the goody-goody girl of Riverdale and the typical 'girl next door' (in Archie's case she is the girl next door). When Betty meets new girl in town Veronica Lodge and 'Dark Betty' is unleashed. Next up we have Camila Mendes, an award-winning actress playing Riverdale's newest resident and daddy's little princess Veronica Lodge. Ronnie is a spoiled, typical princess and she always gets what she wants. She's a fierce, feisty fashionista.

KJ Apa otherwise known as Riverdale's football fanatic and helpful hunk- Archie Andrews. His neighbour and best friend Betty certainly realises this, but will she be overshadowed by new girl Veronica? Archie lies a typical life in Riverdale until things take a twisted turn in Season 2. The last member of our charismatic core 4 is the gorgeous Disney channel Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones. Jughead is an outsider to the people of Riverdale. He's mysterious, intelligent and 'a weirdo' but we all love him.

Other important characters

Riverdale has a resident mean girl, some may say the Regina George of Riverdale, otherwise known as Cheryl Blossom. Cheryl is played by the beautiful Madelaine Petsch. Cheryl is a broken, beautiful and misunderstood after the worrying and sudden death of her twin brother Jason. Although Cheryl is Riverdale's Head River Vixen (Cheerleader) and can be stereotyped as the mean girl, she is broken after the unsuspected death of her much-loved twin and she is unsupported by her mother who neglects to listen to her daughter's views and opinions who prefers her twisted husband. Although Cheryl is supposed to be the 'mean girl' in Riverdale, I personally find her honest, confident and fabulous!

Last but not least is one of Betty's best friends Kevin Keller who is played by Casey Cott. Kevin is Riverdale's only gay boy making it difficult for him to find love in the town. Kevin is by far the most loveable character and he is the best friend you could ask for. He is supportive, caring and the perfect friend.

My views

I have watched Stranger Things, Pretty Little Liars and Hater's Back Off (plus more) on Netflix so far but nothing has compared to the buzz of excitement I get when I watch Riverdale. I'm sure there's lots of you out there that will agree. This thrilling drama show creates a whirlwind of butterflies in your stomach and takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions. You will go from crying with the characters to suspenseful moments where a killer is revealed. I always swoon over the stunning Jughead Jones and the adorable Archie Andrews. I also sympathise with Kevin or feel spine-chillingly worried by the tricks up Cheryl's sleeve and felt as if I was besties with Betty and Veronica after just 1 episode.
