Sometimes it can be difficult to relax after a long day so we have put together some tips for you to calm down and relax after a tough day at work or school.

Change into Comfy Clothes

There’s nothing better than getting home from work and changing into a comfy t-shirt or your favourite pair of sweatpants. Changing out of your work clothes tells your brain that it’s time to relax, and that you can enjoy a few hours to myself, without the stress of work weighing on your shoulders.

Unplug For a Couple of Hours

Most of us fine ourselves on your phone or computer all day long and when we get home our brain needs a break. Try and leave your phone in your bedroom for an hour or two and go out to the family room to do anything other than check your social media. This will help your sanity tremendously.

Mediate/Do Yoga

After a long day at work, it’s so great to spend a few minutes meditating. Focus on your breathing and give thanks for the day your just had. But if you’re not a fan of meditating or you’re just not ready for it, do some yoga or at the very least, stretch. Chances are, you’ve been sitting on your butt all day long, and your body needs some stretching. You’ll feel SO MUCH BETTER!

Read a Book

One of the best things to do after a long day at work is to curl up on the couch with a good book. This is definitely a good way to get your mind off work and to focus on something you really enjoy.

Take a Bubble Bath

The bathtub is always the best part of any household. After a super stressful day at work, walking around in uncomfortable shoes, there’s nothing like slipping into a hot bubble bath.

Listen to Relaxing Music

Listening to relaxing music really helps you to unwind after a long day. If you open up Spotify and type “Relaxation Music” then you will surely feel like you’re at a spa or in the middle of a forest or at the beach somewhere totally stress-free.

Light Some Candles

After a long day at work, there is nothing better than lighting candles. It really sets the tone for the evening and helps me remember you to take it easy. It tells your brain that the rest of the night is for unwinding and it seems to have helped with many people’s anxiety.

Any other suggestions? How do you relax after a long day?
