If there’s one thing we love about the summer months it’s, well, the fact that exams are finally over but there is also another benefit: we can enjoy the sun (when it actually decides to make an appearance) and what better way to do that than at a festival with friends or family?

Whether you love heavy metal or pop, there is something for everyone when it comes to festivals. So, I’ve put together a list of my top 7 that will be taking place across the UK this summer.

Wireless

Where? Finsbury Park, London

When? 6-8th July

In just a month, the dance and hip-hop festival will be taking over Finsbury Park with the likes of J.Cole (Friday), Stormzy (Saturday) and DJ Khaled (Sunday) headlining the show - it’s time to start working on those rapping skills!

Bestival

Where? Lulworth Estate, Dorset

When? 2-5th August

This year, Bestival is following in the footsteps of The Greatest Showman’s recent success with their circus theme, calling themselves ‘the most colourful show on earth’. There’ll not only be lots of music (from the likes of Silk City and Rudimental), but also circus acts and workshops for everyone over the extended weekend.

Reading and Leeds Fest

Where? Richfield Avenue, Reading and Bramham Park, Leeds

When? 24-26th August

The two festivals, which will take place simultaneously in both locations, have a big line-up this year with Fall Out Boy, Travis Scott and The Wombats (Friday Reading, Saturday Leeds), Kendrick Lamar, Panic! At The Disco and Dua Lipa (Saturday Reading, Sunday Leeds) and Kings of Leon and The Vaccines (Sunday Reading, Friday Leeds).

BST Hyde Park

Where? Hyde Park, London

When? 6-8th July and 13 - 15th July

Right in the heart of London, BST is always popular amongst both locals and tourists. Headliners for the first weekend are Roger Waters, The Cure and Eric Clapton while the following weekend has Michael Bublé, Bruno Mars and Paul Simon. Tickets are very low, so if this takes your interest it’s time to get buying!

Isle of Wight Festival

Where? Seaclose Park, Newport

When? 21-24th June

Celebrating their 50th anniversary, the Isle of Wight festival will once again be taking over the island for a weekend full of fun with their headliners Kasabian (Friday), Liam Gallagher (Saturday) and The Killers (Sunday). Other big names in pop music such as Rita Ora, James Bay and Camila Cabello will also be there.

Fusion Festival UK

Where? Otterspool Promenade, Liverpool

When? 1-2nd September

Relatively new to the world of festivals, Fusion began back in 2013 and has continued to grow bigger by the year. Headlining on the Saturday this year are David Guetta, Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne and on the Sunday are Shawn Mendes and Years & Years.

Download Fest

Where? Donington Park, Leicestershire

When?  8-10th June

With only a few days left, it’s best you rock and heavy metal fans get buying asap! Headliners include Ozzy Osbourne, Guns N’ Roses and Avenged Sevenfold. The continuously growing festival will also be playing in Spain and France throughout June.

It’s time to pull out your wellies…where will you be heading this year?
