Maybe it’s been the hot weather that we’ve been having recently, but it’s been difficult to relax. Sleeping patterns can be all over the place and all we want is a place to hang out and relieve the stress. We’ve found that there are just a few things you can do in your bedroom to make it more relaxing and help to give you that time you need to de-stress.

Fresh Bedding

One of the best feelings in the world is getting into bed with fresh sheets, and anyone who disagrees- is lying. One way to try and make your room feel more cozy and relaxing is to give your bed linen a little upgrade. Either buy a new cosy duvet set, or upgrade your pillows, or even just a new blanket, can make the world of difference. It doesn’t even have to be expensive, you can pick up some cheap but cute bedding from a shop like Primark.

No Technology

We have all been guilty though of lying in bed looking on Instagram and Twitter and before we know it, it’s 12:30am. Try limiting phone time before bed and instead read a book or a magazine or write something in your journal. This will help you to relax and your brain will get some time to switch off and relax.
Ban yourself from checking emails and social media and you’ll quickly stop feeling so overwhelmed by everything.

Adding Some Prints

Adding some new prints will help to revitalise your bedroom and make you feel happier. Why not try a relaxing beach theme in your bedroom and create similar vibes to a holiday villa. Add in some posters to bring much needed colour to the room as well! You can even add some frames around your prints to really finish off the look and feel of the room.

Lighting

Lighting is a key part of making a room relaxing right? It’s hard to understand how people can sit in the evening or get into bed with the big light on. It’s incredibly relaxing to have a lamp and some fairy lights on as it immediately puts you into a more relaxed state. Play a relaxing playlist or google chilled out music on Youtube and you’ll have forgotten about all your stress in no time.

Say Bye To Clutter

You know that saying ‘Tidy room, tidy mind?’ When your bedroom is a mess it’s so difficult to properly relax and sleep well. Make an effort to keep your room clean and you’ll immediately find yourself into a more chilled out space when you’re in your bedroom. You’ll actually want to spend more time in your room to wind down.

Lastly, don’t forget to add the candles. Lighting a nice smelling candle can bring the whole ambience together and send you straight to sleep within a matter of minutes.
