Make The Most Of Autumn 2018

Make The Most Of Autumn 2018

Autumn is finally here! The days are getting shorter and the leaves are turning into the beautiful orange colour we all know and love. Autumn is definitely my favourite season as I begin to feel cosier and it means Christmas is just around the corner! I always want to make the most of autumn and I think you should too…

Nature Walks

Autumn is such a beautiful season when it comes to the weather and nature. I always love going on walks when the weather isn’t scorching hot and the air is fresh and crisp. Walks during autumn really help you appreciate the beautiful colours and you can also see the animals that are around during the fall.

Clothing

It’s time to get your coats and scarves out! Autumn is the perfect opportunity to buy some new jumpers and cosy attire, or dig out your favourite coat and knitted hat. I always love wrapping up warm in autumn/winter time as it’s comfortable and adds to the whole homely feel of the season.

Relaxing

With all the festivals and the blazing heat, summer can be stressful. However, this season is all about chilling at home with the fire on.  Now you have the perfect excuse to stay inside all day watching movies! Make a hot chocolate, find your softest blanket and light all your candles. Make your room into an autumn wonderland that you can relax in and embrace the changing seasons. You can also make your own blanket which is something I’ve seen many people doing in preparation for winter.

Food

This, in my opinion, is the best part of autumn! We all know the iconic Starbucks drink: the Pumpkin Spice Latte. It’s essential to have one of these in autumn, along with pumpkin pie (which my family makes after carving Halloween pumpkins). Caramel apples are also an iconic treat. Some food items that are in season are cranberries, pumpkins, butternut squash and wild mushrooms. These can be used in a range of recipes, so why not have a day of cooking and baking autumnal foods? Make sure you’re savouring the flavours of the season!

Halloween

And of course the most important part of autumn: Halloween! To take this holiday to the max, throw a party with your friends and dress up as spooky characters. Decorate every room in your house with skeletons and pumpkins, which you can easily make on your own without spending a penny. There is many events taking place such as Fright Night at Thorpe Park that will definitely get you in the scary spirit. Don’t forget to carve your pumpkins too!

Enjoy this season and spend it with the people you love. Invite friends and family to do some of these activities with you, and take some time to be in the moment- appreciate everything the season has to offer.
