Now more than 25 years after the release of the original. Hocus Pocus 2 is set to hit Disney+ on September 30, 2022, in a highly anticipated follow-up to the cult classic.
According to the synopsis for this film, this time around three young women will bring the Sanderson sisters back. They will then need to figure out how to stop the crazed witches from taking vengeance and creating havoc on the world.
One of the biggest questions people have about the sequel is whether or not the original cast will be back to reprise their famous roles in the 1993 film. The good news is that the actresses that played the iconic roles have all reprised their roles in the sequel. This means that Sarah Michelle Geller who played Sarah Sanderson, Bette Midler who played Winnifred Sanderson and Kathy Najimy who played Mary Sanderson will all be back for the much-anticipated sequel to the smash hit.
Will the critics be kinder to the sequel than they were to the original? It remains to be seen whether they will be. The movie was critically pummelled when it came out in 1993, with critics labeling it as unfunny and ridiculous. However, over the years it has developed a cult following and is Disney’s most popular Halloween movie.
