The Secret To Healthy Skin

The Secret To Healthy Skin

During the autumn and winter our skin is more prone to becoming dry and flaky and this is why it is extremely important to make sure you are treating your body right to minimize the chances of this happening.

One of the most obvious factors to keeping your skin healthy is making sure you are hydrated. Just because it’s not summer does not mean you don’t have to keep your fluid intake up. Each day you should aim to drink at least 2litres of water.

Moisture, moisture, moisture! So many people don’t moisturize because they feel that it is unnecessary however this is vital in maintaining healthy skin. Even if you have oily skin you should try to find a moisturizer that works best for you. :) When looking for a moisturizer, try to stick to lotions or gels instead of creams- especially if you have oily skin. Furthermore you could always use raw coconut oil, like I do occasionally, and just rub this into your skin. *Remember a little bit can go along way*

As the weather gets colder you may be tempted to have a hot bath however this is one of the worst things you can do. The reason behind this is because having hot baths can strip your body of essential oils drying out your skin so instead opt for warm baths.

Lastly eating healthily will give you clearer skin. The recommended daily requirement for fruit and veg is actually 7. This sounds a lot but if you have around 2 servings per meal your nearly there. As well as this it has been proven that eating dairy products increases your likely hood of getting acne. I know from personal experience that this works because I cut out dairy products in May and have had wonderful results!
